Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to oversee continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and promptly alert RNs or clinicians of rhythm changes. The role requires attention to detail, quick decision-making, and strong communication within a care team.

A high school diploma or GED and monitor tech competency with 85% are expected, with basic computer skills and a preference for CRAT certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors.
• Notify RNs or clinicians immediately of any changes in rhythms.
• Review patient information to determine normal and current rhythm patterns.
• Work cooperatively as part of a clinical team.

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
• Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
