Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and notify RNs and clinicians of any changes in rhythms. You will review patient information to identify normal and current patterns and variances, working closely with a cohesive clinical team to ensure rapid response.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and communicate clearly under pressure.
The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.

Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
