Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to support the Mohs surgeon during procedures, ensure sterile environments, and provide post-operative care instructions. The role covers patient prep, tissue handling, wound care, and documentation in the EMR.

Responsibilities include scheduling, obtaining consent, processing specimens, and maintaining regulatory compliance, with potential cross-training in the Mohs laboratory as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dermatology or surgical setting experience preferred.
• CMA, RMA, LVN, or LPN certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and procedure rooms for Mohs surgery and other visits, ensuring proper setup.
• Assist the Mohs surgeon during all procedure stages including pre-operative care and wound closure.
• Perform patient intake, obtain medical history, and address pre-procedure concerns.
• Provide wound care instructions and educate patients on post-procedure expectations.
• Process tissue specimens for pathology evaluation per protocol.
• Document procedures, meds, and follow-up instructions in the EMR system.
