Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is hiring a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support doctors in surgical and medical settings. You will provide safe, compassionate care and assist with Mohs procedures, patient education, and EHR documentation.

Responsibilities include preparing surgical trays, recording medical information, managing prescriptions, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. Evening shifts may be required in a busy dermatology practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical setting (1+ year)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of sterile technique and anatomy
• Attention to detail and professional attitude
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Understanding of HIPAA guidelines
• Familiarity with EHR systems

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients during exams, surgeries and treatments
• Review medical history and confirm visit purpose
• Escort patients to exam or surgical rooms
• Obtain surgical consent and document accordingly
• Take and record vital signs and medications in EHR
• Prepare sterile surgical tray and setup for Mohs procedures
• Assist physician during surgical procedures as directed
• Provide post-operative wound care instructions to patients
• Manage prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies
• Scribe surgical and office visits and maintain clean treatment rooms
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed
• Coordinate appointments and additional care as needed
• Handle triage calls and document patient information
• Maintain inventory of instruments and supplies
• Document procedures accurately and securely
