Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support physicians in surgical and medical dermatology settings. You will provide safe, compassionate, individualized care to patients and help ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role involves assisting during Mohs procedures, recording histories and vitals, managing sterile setups, and educating patients on post-procedure care within a collaborative dermatology practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Detail oriented with professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams, surgery and treatment.
• Review medical history and confirm purpose of visit.
• Escort patient to exam or surgical room.
• Review informed consent before procedures.
• Take patient photos as needed.
• Record medical history, medications, vitals in EHR.
• Prepare sterile surgical trays and Mohs prep.
• Assist physician during procedures as directed.
• Provide post-procedure wound care instructions to patients.
• Authorize drug refills under physician direction and input into EHR.
• Scribe surgical and office visits.
• Ensure sterile instruments and operate autoclave.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain hygiene.
• Perform duties for non-Mohs patients as needed.
