Job summary

Summit Health seeks a Mohs tech (histotechnician) to perform tissue preparation, cutting, staining and mounting for Mohs surgery. You will process and freeze tissue, operate a cryostat, and prepare slides with H&E staining while maintaining records and safety standards.

You will collaborate with the Mohs surgeon, help maintain lab equipment, and contribute to standard operating procedures. An Associate’s degree is preferred, with 2–4 years’ experience and HT/HTL (ASCP) preferred; English

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience required.
• HT or HTL (ASCP) preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to function autonomously and make independent decisions.
• Experience with EMR or standard office tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens by processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for examination.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including cryostats and microtomes.
• Ensure accurate documentation and labeling of specimens and slides.
• Perform routine histology and immunohistochemical staining techniques.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Mohs surgeon and staff to ensure timely processing and reporting.
