Job summary

TK Elevator in Manhattan, NY seeks a Field Operations Manager – Modernization to oversee all modernization operations, people, and projects. You will lead superintendents, uphold safety programs, and drive on-site progress with strong customer collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Thorough knowledge of elevator industry and management methods.
• Ability to analyze data and interpret technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise modernization superintendents and staff; enforce policies and performance.
• Administer safety program with weekly audits and safety emphasis.
• Plan and prioritize modernization jobs with manpower and scheduling tools.
• Review job status using reports to identify risks and opportunities.
• Manage on-site progress from survey to completion and coordinate with customers.
• Oversee subcontractor performance on turnkey projects.
• Develop relationships with owners, consultants, contractors, and architects.
• Review bids, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide labor/material cost input.
• Handle change orders, purchase orders, and vendor approvals.
• Keep up-to-date with elevator codes and SOPs.
• Interface with factory, regional teams, and other departments.
• Resolve customer complaints and coordinate with local agents.
• Determine material needs and arrange subcontracting portions.
• Conduct weekly crew visits to manage safety and progress.
