Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Boston is seeking a Field Superintendent of Modernization (MOD) to oversee elevator modernization projects, lead field technicians, and ensure safety, schedule adherence, quality, and cost management.

You will coordinate scheduling, procurement, and logistics; manage invoicing and change orders; collaborate with sales, engineering, and service teams; and mentor technicians while maintaining strong relations with union representatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field technicians, overseeing multiple modernization projects to meet schedule, budget, and safety standards.
• Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, and field logistics to ensure timely completion.
• Track project progress and labor allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to deliver high-quality results.
• Manage project documentation including invoicing, change orders, and financial forecasting.
• Maintain relationships with union representatives and support staffing needs including hiring and disciplinary actions.
