Job summary

The Elliot Health System seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant – Phlebotomist to travel to nursing homes and assisted living facilities served by the Elliot Health System, performing lab services. You will collect, verify orders, label, handle, transport and document patient specimens, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include accurate patient ID at collection, proper labeling, venipuncture, capillary collections, and meticulous documentation of tests and mileage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient at time of collection and labels specimens in presence of patient.
• Performs routine and advanced venipuncture using standard precautions across locations and age groups.
• Performs routine and stat capillary collections across locations and on-call rotation.
• Performs computerized clerical duties, verifies/places orders, obtains work lists, documents collections and mileage.
