The Elliot Health System seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant – Phlebotomist for the Traveler Services Dept. This per diem, part-time role involves traveling to nursing homes and facilities to collect and process specimens. Expect rotating holidays and weekends, with early morning hours and mileage documentation.

Responsibilities include patient identification, venipuncture, specimen labeling, and safe transport, along with clerical duties and ensuring timely processing of tests.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Automobile insurance maintained throughout employment.

Mansioni

• Identifies patient at time of collection and labels specimens.
• Performs routine and advanced venipuncture in various locations and age groups.
• Performs routine capillary collections and on-call rotations.
• Performs computerized clerical duties: ordering, work lists, mileage and trip documentation.
• Prepares specimens, operates centrifuges, aliquots samples and documents tests.
• Delivers specimens to appropriate laboratory areas within timelines and maintains sample quality.
