Job summary

The Clinical Lab Assistant at Elliot Health System serves as the primary point of contact for patients, physicians, and staff, supporting phlebotomy and clerical tasks to keep the laboratory moving efficiently.

Responsibilities include venipuncture across ages, specimen labeling, data entry into EPIC, handling requisitions, and communicating test results while ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Rotating holidays and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine venipuncture and capillary collections across age groups.
• Verify patient requisitions, label specimens, and document collections accurately.
• Enter orders into EPIC and manage specimen tracking from collection to storage.
