Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Greenville, Alabama is seeking a heavy-duty diesel truck technician. You will safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain company trucks and equipment to keep the fleet operating reliably and safely.

The role offers starting pay of $30–$35 per hour with overtime after 40 hours, a 4am start, and an 11-hour day schedule. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursements, and 401K eligibility after specified periods.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
• Follows safety and regulatory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely.

Starting Pay: $30-$35/hr
More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.
Shift: 4am start time. Expect 11hr days. Immediate Overtime after 40hrs.

Shift will be service call heavy-provided with company truck.
