Job summary

Compucom Staffing seeks a Field Service Technician to provide onsite IT support across Charlotte, NC and nearby areas. You will travel daily to multiple store locations, troubleshoot IT equipment, document issues, and ensure high-quality customer service.

The role demands reliability, strong communication, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. Requirements include 1+ year IT support experience, A+ certification, hardware know-how, and willingness to travel; Net+ is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of IT technical support experience.
• A+ CompTIA certification required.
• Technical hardware experience required.
• Net+ CompTIA certification is a plus.
• Field service experience preferred.
• Exceptional Customer Service and relationship building competence.
• Excellent time management and reporting skill.
• Familiar with Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with copper and fiber cabling and various terminating connectors.
• Proficient communicator with ability to explain IT terminology to clients.
• Knowledge of POS, PCs, printers, thin clients, APs, servers and network switch equipment.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts.
• Triage, troubleshoot and resolve client IT equipment issues.
• Occasionally work at heights of 20’–25’; lift equipment training provided.
• Document efforts, issues and resolutions; close cases daily.
