Job summary

Virginia Department of Health is seeking a Medical Facilities Inspector Supervisor to lead inspections and investigations across the East Central region. The role requires extensive travel, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate findings clearly in writing and verbally.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in articulate and legally defensible manner.
• Knowledge of quality-of-care issues, health care operations, management and service delivery systems.
• Ability to interpret and consistently apply laws and regulations and understand consequence of violations.
• Management skills in planning, analysis, scheduling, team building and providing customer services.
• General knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Ability to supervise a diverse workforce, which may be dispersed throughout the state in home-based offices.
• If working in LTC and/or Complaint unit, must obtain SMQT Certification within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite surveys/inspections and complaint investigations.
• Perform state licensure inspections, interpretation, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare written findings and evaluate health-related services for adherence to standards.
