Job summary

Virginia Department of Health seeks a Medical Facilities Inspector Supervisor to conduct onsite surveys, inspections and complaint investigations within the East Central Region. The role requires evaluating health-related services for compliance with regulations and standards, with travel about 80% of the time and testimony in written findings.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in articulate and legally defensible manner.
• Knowledge of quality-of-care issues, health care operations and service delivery systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws/regulations and understand violations.
• Management skills in planning, analysis, scheduling and team building.
• General knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite surveys/inspections and complaint investigations.
• Handle state certification, validation and complaints processes.
• Perform licensure inspections and interpret state laws and regulations.
• Prepare written findings and manage travel across East Central Virginia region.
