Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role installs and supports GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet tech across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers, with travel to customer sites for mobile installations.

You'll leverage your automotive or electrical background to wire 12V/24V systems, troubleshoot installations, and document work while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
