Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across vehicles and trailers. This hands-on role welcomes those with automotive, electrical, fleet, or installation backgrounds eager to learn new technology.

You will perform wiring, troubleshoot installations, and travel to customer sites for mobile work, with a focus on safety and right-first-time results.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, or installation experience.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a mobile environment.
• 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
