Job summary

Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, FL, seeks a Family Support Community Specialist to provide mobile and site-based assessments, resource navigation, and direct services to families in need. You will determine eligibility, connect to resources, and maintain HMIS documentation with a compassionate, mission-driven approach.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll train volunteers, help coordinate outreach, and support holiday programs and community events while ensuring compliance with funder

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in social services preferred.
• Experience with individuals/families experiencing homelessness or poverty helpful.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in homelessness prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients, determine eligibility, and provide resource navigation and services.
• Administer prevention, diversion, and financial assistance per guidelines.
• Maintain confidential client records and HMIS documentation.
• Deliver compassionate, efficient services while managing client flow.
• Represent Metropolitan Ministries at community sites and with partners.
• Collaborate on outreach, neighborhoods, and events to coordinate resources.
• Train and coordinate volunteers to improve service delivery.
• Monitor activities for budget alignment and grant requirements.
• Support holiday programs, events, and fundraising activities.
• Participate in holiday tent registration and distribution as needed.
• Meet personal and team goals per Strategic Plan; assist as directed.
