Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel And Trailer Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, and engine systems and road-test vehicles to ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities include maintaining the service truck, parts inventory, and documenting work via the TRAIT app, with DOT documentation and safety compliance as priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 5 years' related experience.
• ASE T8 certification required within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain and operate company-issued service truck and conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
