Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PM inspections, and light-to-heavy repairs on a mobile/field basis. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems, maintain the service truck, and document work via the TRAIT app.

OSHA and DOT regulations apply; maintenance windows include weekend shifts. Ideal candidates have HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years related experience, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field, or 5 years in related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance and DOT physical prerequisites.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical and diesel systems, brakes, cooling, and engine components.
• Inspect and test equipment with handheld instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Maintain parts inventory and manage service truck and equipment.
• Document RO details and parts used in TRAIT app; upload photos.
