Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers on site. You will handle maintenance, diagnostics, and on-site service calls for a fleet of commercial trucks and equipment.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7/8 technician experience, and a CDL is preferred but not required. ASE certifications are valued, with a comprehensive total rewards package and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• ASE certifications preferred & rewarded.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform correct repair procedures.
• Diagnosis, removal and replacement of发动 injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and transmissions.
• Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Examine guards, bolts, and safety devices; make adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document and submit paperwork or enter into mobile service program for work performed.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
• Advise customer or service writer on repairs or services needed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it in work.
