Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support client fleets with on-site service calls and proactive maintenance. You will diagnose, repair, and service trucks at customer locations, using a range of diagnostic tools and company standards to ensure reliability and safety.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and ensuring inspections are performed and documented as assigned.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle operation to plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform correct repairs.
• Diagnose, remove and replace engine components and other parts as needed.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions in the company computer system.
• Inspect safety devices and make adjustments as required.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document work accurately in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
