Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to service fleets at customer sites and perform on-site diagnostics and maintenance. You will handle preventive care, repairs, and parts installation, traveling to client locations as needed.

This role requires 5+ years as a Class 7/8 technician, medical card, and ASE/Cummins certifications are valued. A CDL is preferred but not mandatory; high school diploma or GED required. Competitive pay with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required; Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and assess vehicle operation to plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, bearings, and transmissions.
• Document work performed in the mobile service program and company system.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
