Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain fleets and perform service calls at client locations. You will diagnose, replace parts, and conduct preventative maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a valid driver’s license, and FMVSS medical card; after hire you may obtain the medical card. Must be willing to travel to client sites and support after-hours calls as needed.

Qualifications

• Med Card is required and can be obtained after hire.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability required.
• Valid driver license with insurability as per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and spare parts.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required.
• Read job orders and plan procedures based on vehicle operation.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and repair procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document work accurately.
• Foster positive customer relations and inform customers of upcoming repairs.
