Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Parma, OH, is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain client fleets and perform on-site service calls. You will handle diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance with a focus on speed and quality for commercial trucks.

Requirements include a minimum 5 years as a Class 7/8 technician, CDL preferred, and relevant certifications. Competitive pay and benefits are offered within a nationwide network of dealerships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and inspections on trucks and keep records updated.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep it stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Remain available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Maintain tools for diesel maintenance and repairs.
• Read job orders and assess vehicle operation to plan work.
• Use diagnostic equipment and information to repair correctly.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, bearings, brakes, and more.
• Document work performed in the company computer system.
• Inspect safety devices and tighten/adjust components as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance with specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork or enter data into the mobile service program timely.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
