Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a mobile/field basis. You will operate a company vehicle, manage parts on the service truck, and work with clients to meet repair needs.

The role supports on-site and road operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and independent scheduling. Industry certifications and a valid driver’s license are required, with training available to advance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant field experience; or 5 years in related field.
• Obtain ASE PMI (T8) within 18 months of hire.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance and DOT physical considerations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company service truck and RO documentation.
• Communicate with management and customers to discuss RO findings and approvals.
• Adhere to safety, health and environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
