Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet ranging from light to heavy-duty vehicles. You will travel in a company service truck, perform hands-on maintenance, and document findings using a mobile app.

This role offers independent work, a home service vehicle, and opportunities for advancement with comprehensive benefits. Eligible for weekly pay and training investments by Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience, or equivalent combination.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
• DOT/FMCSA related pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck components including electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions, and more.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using manual tools and diagnostic instruments.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Independently manage parts inventory and use company vehicles for service tasks.
• Document work performed and parts used in the Repair Orders via company app.
