Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to join our nationwide team. This on-site role may be performed remotely but requires living in the specified city, state, or region. You will conduct certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trailers in mobile/field settings.

The position emphasizes advanced diagnostics, leadership on job sites, and strict adherence to safety and DOT regulations. ASE certifications, CDL-A, and hands-on experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• ASE 608/609 certification.
• CDL-A license required.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance plus valid DOT medical card where applicable.
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment background screening and medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures at all times.
• Manage parts inventory and operate company service vehicle responsibly.
• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and routine repairs on trailers.
• Document findings and RO details using TRAIT app and iOS device.
• Communicate with management for approvals on estimates and PO numbers.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and triage on complex trailer repairs.
