Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, test vehicles, and document findings on Repair Orders using a company iOS device.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 21+ years old, DOT background screening, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card acceptable if within 4 months of expiration; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.
• Class C Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on light/medium/heavy-duty vehicles in field/mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drive train systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory on service truck and upload RO notes via iOS device.
