Job summary

CoxFleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, perform road tests, and manage parts inventory while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months, a valid DOT medical card, and a current driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years in related field.
• Own and maintain a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT background screening and DOT physical before employment.
• DOT medical card valid; if near expiration, a DOT physical will be required.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems; test and adjust as needed.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain and operate company-issued service truck; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Document work and parts used in the TRAIT system via iOS device and upload RO photos.
