Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile/field environment. You will handle light to heavy-duty vehicle work, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

The role requires 3+ years with refrigerated equipment, a HS diploma or equivalent, and tool ownership; DOT/ASE credentials strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years in a related field, or 5 years in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance; DOT medical card preferred if available.
• Valid driver’s license and interstate driving eligibility.
• ASE T8 or ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months; further ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers.
• Test, road-test, inspect, and document findings; upload RO details via TRAIT app.
• Coordinate with customers and management to approve repairs and estimates.
• Manage parts and inventory for service truck and maintain the vehicle with safety checks.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
