Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on light to heavy‑duty vehicles in a field setting.

You will diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, road test after service, and manage parts inventory on a company truck. The role requires ASE T8 within 18 months, DOT medical card, and the ability to work independently with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience; or 5 years in field.
• Must supply hand tools to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; candidate must pass DOT pre-employment checks and maintain a valid DOT medical card or undergo required exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, cooling, brake systems and related components.
• Inspect, test and diagnose malfunctions using handheld instruments and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck; document work on RO via TRAIT app.
