Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose issues, manage parts on a service truck, and maintain safety and compliance across routes.

You will work under supervision to gain advanced diagnostics skills, meet performance metrics, and provide exceptional customer service while traveling to client sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
• DOT medical card with >4 months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.
• ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) required.
• Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunction using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other instruments.
• Maintain and operate the company service truck, conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs and provide information or assistance.
• Obtain parts from local and national vendors and document findings on RO using TRAIT app.
