Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II (DOT) to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a field/mobile setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, and engine systems, road test vehicles, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires tool ownership, DOT/regulatory familiarity, and the ability to work at customer sites. You will join a team supporting nationwide fleets with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field or 5 years experience accepted.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months if not already possessed.
• Must possess and provide a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on trucks in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on various trucks.
• Test and road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate RO documentation using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for needed components.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies.
