Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, road test vehicles, and manage parts on a service truck while following safety and DOT regulations.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with relevant field experience and ASE T8 certification within 18 months, plus a valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with related field experience; 3–5 years in field accepted.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light–heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field env.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; document work via RO in TRAIT app.
• Ensure safety, OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance in all tasks.
