Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems while maintaining inventory and documenting work with our TRAIT app.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of related experience (or 5 years in related field); ASE T8 certification within 18 months is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; 3 years related experience or 5 years related field experience.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months and compatible driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
  • Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
  • Maintain and manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck.
  • Document work on RO using iOS device and TRAIT app; complete DOT forms promptly.
