Job summary

Cox Fleet, part of Cox Automotive, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs for light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field setting. The role supports on-site service across nationwide fleets with a focus on diagnostics and safety compliance.

The position offers a night shift (7:00 pm – 3:00 am) with weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for certification growth within a leading national fleet

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience (or 5 years in related field)
• At least 3 years’ experience with refrigerated equipment
• Must possess a set of hand tools
• DOT/FMCSA training and DOT medical card conditions
• Ability to pass mandatory DOT background screening and DOT physical
• Valid driver’s license and interstate operating authority compliance

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues
• Manage parts inventory and document work using company TRAIT app on iOS
• Adhere to safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
• Maintain service truck and complete pre/post-trip inspections
