Job summary

CoxFleet, a division of Cox Automotive, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks in a mobile/field setting.

The role requires 3 years of related field experience (or 5 years alternative), a HS diploma or GED, hand tools, and valid driver’s license. ASE T8 certification is expected within 18 months; DOT background and physical are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Candidate must pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments/repairs on truck equipment (electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions).
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect, test, and document work with RO, photos, and TRAIT app.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck routines.
• Maintain safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicles.
