Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, and manage parts on a company truck.

Requires a HS diploma or GED, 3 years in the field (or 5 years with related experience), and ASE T8 certification within 18 months. Travel is 100% with a flexible work shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field, or 5 years experience with related field.
• Must supply set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT and FMCSA regulations knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect and road-test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work with RO in TRAIT system on iOS device.
• Maintain safety and pre-/post-trip inspections of service vehicle.
