Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II for CoxFleet. You will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks in a mobile/field setting. The role requires careful diagnostics, tool control, and adherence to safety standards.

The position is 2nd shift with weekend coverage, offering hourly pay and potential bonuses. You will operate a company vehicle and coordinate with a support team to ensure fleets stay on the road.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years related experience or 5 years alternative.
• ASE T8 certification required within 18 months of hire; valid DOT compliance.
• Must supply a set of hand tools and diesel-specific tools for field work.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light- to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field work.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, cooling and engine systems.
• Document findings, upload RO details using company TRAIT app.
• Obtain parts from vendors and communicate estimates for approvals.
