Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work with various truck systems and manage parts on the service truck while documenting procedures in the TRAIT app.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, and a valid driver’s license with a clean DOT record. OEM certifications are a plus and full-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required and up to 2 years in a related field preferred.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for duties.
• DOT regulations require medical clearance and a pre-employment screening.
• Candidates must be 21+ and hold a valid driver’s license with DQ file.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred; pursue training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and light repairs on vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Handle minor adjustments and repairs to electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and reconcile stock levels.
• Document work on RO using iOS device and TRAIT app with photos of parts and findings.
• Complete DOT forms timely and communicate repair estimates with management.
• Maintain safe, productive operations and operate service truck in the field.
