Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service our fleet and respond to client service calls in the Charlotte, NC area. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and related equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualified candidates have a minimum of 5 years as a Class 7/8 technician, a valid CDL and Medical card, and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Must possess a valid driver license with insurability as per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and stocking.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties as assigned.
• Be available for after-hours service and flexible schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle issues to plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and manuals to perform repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, cam shafts, bearings, oil pans, brakes, batteries, transmissions, etc.
• Document work in company computer system and submit paperwork timely.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are secure and functional.
• Lubricate parts, test drives to verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventive maintenance as requested.
• Notify customers of repairs or services needed in near term.
• Participate in training and apply learnings on the job.
