Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician to service client fleets at their locations. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment, using manuals and diagnostic tools, while delivering outstanding customer service and timely documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 7 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, and a valid driver's license; CDL/Medical card preferred. Equal opportunity employer; pay range listed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 7 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must have or be able to get a Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for stocking.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform correct repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work performed.
