Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy-duty repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems and work under supervision while advancing your diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities include road testing, parts management, safety inspections, and documenting findings in the TRAIT system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Genuine ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months or equivalent.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical; DOT medical card may substitute if valid.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements for interstate work.
• Ability to perform duties in a mobile/field environment with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using handheld devices and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain inventory and service truck, including safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Document work performed and parts used in RO and TRAIT app.
