Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, and document work using TRAIT on an iOS device.

A valid DOT medical card, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a clean driving record are required. Hours are variable with daytime and weekend flexibility.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field considered
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• DOT/FMCSA regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical
• DOT medical card valid or DOT physical required
• Driver's license and ability to pass MVR checks

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on fleet in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on light to heavy trucks
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation
• Document findings and parts used on RO via TRAIT application
• Manage inventory on service truck and coordinate with management for estimates and approvals
• Adhere to DOT and safety regulations and company policies
