Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain client fleet and respond to service calls at client locations. You will perform maintenance, inspections, parts removal/reconditioning, and report writing with strong customer service.

CDL and 9+ years of Class 7 & 8 tech experience in trucks are required. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing diesel engines, managing service truck inventory, and being available for after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 9 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVSS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling and inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan work procedures.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engine parts using diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Document and submit paperwork in the company system.
