Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet and respond to service calls at client locations. You will perform cleaning, maintenance, inspections, part removal/installation with manuals, and document work in our system. Exceptional customer service is required.

You will diagnose, repair, and service heavy trucks on-site, manage inventory on the service truck, and coordinate with the Service Manager. CDL required; safety and FMVSS compliance prioritized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 9 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
• Read job orders and determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Diagnose using diagnostic equipment and perform correct repairs.
• Perform inspections to ensure safety and conformance to specifications.
• Document and submit paperwork or enter into mobile service program.
