Job summary

Transitions – Mental Health Association is seeking a Team Lead for the Mobile Crisis Team in San Luis Obispo. The role directs day-to-day clinical, administrative, and operational functions to ensure 24/7 mobile crisis response, crisis assessment, and hospital coordination.

You will supervise staff, manage schedules, oversee training and quality assurance, and collaborate with dispatch, county partners, and service providers.

Qualifications

• Current, active California license in good standing as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist.
• Minimum of two years of professional behavioral health experience with high-acuity needs; crisis intervention/ mobile crisis preferred.
• Minimum of one year of leadership or supervisory experience; budget/contract/24/7 service experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day clinical, administrative, and operational functions of the Mobile Crisis Team to ensure 24/7 availability.
• Develop and manage staffing schedules, including two-person mobile response, on-call, and surge coverage.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop assigned program staff and interns.
• Coordinate with dispatch and hospital partners to align training, workflows, and communication.
• Provide on-call clinical and operational consultation and escalate complex matters as needed.
• Oversee psychiatric placement workflows and timely referral packets; coordinate with hospitals and receiving facilities.
• Coordinate post-hospitalization appointments and follow-up needs with dispatch and staff.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with Medi-Cal Mobile Crisis and TMHA requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor program policies, procedures, and QA activities.
