Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to join a per diem, 1099 independent contractor role. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol, with travel expenses reimbursed per visit.

Rates are paid per visit, not per day, and may include mileage, airfare, and hotel accommodations. Active registration in cardiac and vascular imaging, BLS, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging required (e.g. RDCS or RCS plus RVT or RVS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech savvy and self-sufficient with digital tools
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments
• Time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or across state lines to patient homes to conduct visits
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging studies per protocol
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment
