Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers for a per diem, 1099 independent contractor role. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform in-home cardiac and vascular imaging visits, paid on a per-visit basis.

Travel expenses incurred per visit may include mileage, airfare, and hotel accommodations, reimbursed on a per-visit basis. We may use AI tools to support parts of the hiring process; final decisions are made by humans.

Qualifications

• Active registration in cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g. RDCS/RCS and RVT/RVS) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy with digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or regionally to patient homes for imaging visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participants.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and comments.
• Maintain ASE standards in imaging quality.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
